Event: Beginning Go and Board Game Group
For more information: Get ready to Go, because in September we're starting a regular program of board games for adults. Go, the ancient Asisan art of strategy and skill, is here at MMPL. We will have an introductory class on how to play Go on Monday, September 13 and will start our Board Game Group on Monday, September 20.

Event: Wills and Estate Planning (Three Part Seminar)
For more information: In September, Mr. Ed Mabry of Texas City will conducts three sessions on wills and estate planning. This event will entail three separate Tuesday evening presentations in the meeting room, each held at 7:00 PM and usually lasting between one and one-half hours.  In addition to discussing the basics relating to legal wills, the seminar will offer hints and tips on the 1) preparation of a will and testament, 2) power of attorney & trust establishment, and 3) the process of estate allotment and relegation. These events is free and open to anyone.

Event: Personal Photography
For more information: In October, the library will host two separate presentations on personal photography. Each will be hosted by Mr. Alton Meyer of Texas City who will cover both digital and regular photography and will speak on many aspects of the art such as choosing the right camera, taking the best pictures, and correctly treating and manipulating your photos. On October 6 @ 6:00 PM, Mr. Meyer will speak on the basics of Black & White photography, incorporating famous works by renowned American photographer Ansel Adams, and discuss the ways in which B & W photos are uniquely different from color images. The October 13 @ 6:00 PM talk will focus on digital color photography and the nuances of digital images. Q & A sessions will be held during each presentation. Each program is free and open admission. All who would like to attend are welcome to bring their personal cameras though bringing one is not a requirement.

Our beginner computer classes here at the library have been so well receieved that we are adding more classes to cover additional topics and programs. The new classes will be aimed at beginning to intermediate computer users. All of our computer classes are free to the public.
